About Us
Your Child Is in Great Hands

Philosophy
After many years of teaching in a public school and then having my own children, I realized that my philosophy was not possible in a public school. We value play in early years, as research shows its many benefits. We focus on age and skill-level appropriate activities to foster and encourage learning organically. We use the students’ interests to guide our teaching.
We value nature as well! We spend as much time outside as we can. Nature is built in to our curriculum and we emphasize its importance and how to take care of it.

We keep a low teacher to child ratio (1:5) so that we can encourage independence, problem solving, and facilitate a positive learning environment for all students. We believe that relationships and connections are important, and we make it a point to get to know the children and their families.

In-Home School = Safe and Cozy
Before a child can learn, he or she must feel safe and comfortable. Walking into our in-home school feels more like a friend’s house or grandma’s house than walking into a sterile school building.
The environment is one of the teachers, so each room is set up to maximize creativity and imagination. We also have a calm corner that children are free to use when needed. Tables, chairs and desks are available, but students are also encouraged to work where they are comfortable.
